Wednesdays are about Wellness so we're sharing the article "Three Strategies for Heart-Healthy Eating" from Constance Brown-Riggs, MSEd, RDN, CDCES, CDN at DiaTribe.org. She suggests a “protein flip” by blending a burger with veggies or mushrooms. “Blended burgers are great because the moisture from the mushrooms actually makes your burger taste better,” says McWhorter. Another "win" you receive by incorporating mushrooms into your meals is the great natural umami flavor, which decreases the need for salt in recipes. Too much sodium in your diet can lead to high blood pressure, heart disease, and strokes, as well as bloating, puffiness, and weight gain.
